The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will be on red alert as it sends troops in key areas across the country during All Saints and All Souls Day on Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.
AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Carlito Galvez Jr., said Tuesday the deployment supports the efforts of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and other law enforcement agencies to make those days peaceful.
“The AFP’s Unified Commands and the Joint Task Force National Capital Region (JTF-NCR), with our counterparts in the PNP will augment troops to secure public facilities to include major cemeteries and other establishments in key cities around the country,” Galvez said.
Military checkpoints will used to stop possible threat during the holidays. The AFP will deploy K9 units and Explosive Ordnance Disposal squads in major cemeteries. DMS
