Militiaman killed in Basilan

A lone gunman shot dead a 43-year old militiaman in Basilan province, military said on Sunday.

Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Major Arvin John Encinas said militiaman Kali Jalaidi Ismali was killed around 8:55am Saturday in Barangay Fuente in Maluso town.

The suspect armed with a caliber .45 pistol shot the victim while driving his motorcycle from Fuente Maluso going to Pamucalin, Lantawan.

Ismali was hit by a single bullet on his head, resulting in his death.

Investigation has been ongoing to determine the motive of the killing as well as to identify the perpetrator. DMS
