MMDA hopes task force will release guidelines on Christmas parties soon
October 19, 2020
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Monday said they are hoping that the Interagency Task Force (IATF) will release guidelines on Christmas parties two months before the holiday season.
“Christmas parties are also part of the discussion (last meeting) because it is mass gathering… We are encouraging everyone to avoid holding parties and celebrate it in other ways,” MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia.
“Hopefully, IATF will release guidelines regarding Christmas parties,” he added.
Garcia said MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim said they will not hold Christmas parties this year.
Some local government offices also declared cancelling Christmas parties due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) threat.
According to an IATF resolution, only 10 people are allowed in mass gatherings and those who will violate the protocols will face charges under the Bayanihan Act. Ella Dionisio/DMS
