More concerns arise in granting accreditation of Uber, Grab drivers: LTFRB
October 11, 2017
Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) said Wednesday at least 24 concerns have to be discussed before the board grants the accreditation of Uber and Grab drivers.
LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada said the concerns involving transport network companies have increased to around 20 to 24 from an initial six to ten issues.
She did not enumerate these concerns but added safety of drivers needed to be addressed after a car of an Uber driver was stolen by three unidentified men who were his passengers in Santolan, Pasig last September 28.
"Even their drivers are talking about their safety . The others were being beaten. The car of others are being stolen. That is why we say we want CCTV", she said.
"All these things, we need to consider before we grant accreditation because when we get accreditation at least we have addressed all this concerns", Lizada said.
LTFRB ordered Uber and Grab to stop accreditation of drivers on August 14. Alanna Ambi/DMS
