More than a thousand of Filipino seaferers in cruise ships anchored in Manila Bay.
As of Thursday morning, the PCG said approximately 1,500 Filipino seafarers remain onboard the cruise ships staying at the anchorage area of Manila Bay.
The PCG said there a total of 23 ships that are currently staying in Manila Bay.
The PCG explained that although ships had left Manila Bay more vessels were arriving in the area.
The Filipino seafarers onboard the cruise ships will have to undergo Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) testing for COVID-19. If they test negative, they will be allowed to go home.
However, if the test result is positive, the Filipino seafarer will be ferried to the nearest COVID-19 referral hospital for medical assistance. Robina Asido/DMS
