Authorities seized more than P200 million worth of suspected illegal drugs in buy-bust operations in Parañaque City and Taguig City last Wednesday evening.
Initial report from the Philippine National Police- Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) said the first operation was conducted around 6:32pm at a salon located in Don Bosco, Parañaque City which resulted to the arrest of two alleged drug suspects.
Confiscated from them were around 12 kilograms of suspected shabu amounting to P81.6 million.
After the suspects were arrested, operatives conducted a follow-up operation to lure the supplier to make another delivery.
This resulted in the arrest of another suspect around 10pm at Waterfun, Taguig City.
Confiscated from the suspected was around 18 kilograms of suspected shabu amounting to P122.4 million.
The suspect is now under police custody.
In a press briefing on Thursday, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Wilkins Villanueva said the seized illegal drugs from the operations came from the Golden Triangle group.
Villanueva said they are still tracking the other warehouse of the group as they also own the warehouse in Marilao, Bulacan raided last June.
"Right now, what we really think that one who is bringing illegal drugs in the country is the Golden Triangle drug trafficking organization. So we are looking at where are their other warehouses because we already got their warehouse in Marilao, Bulacan,” he said.
"If there are still like that (big amount of shabu), definitely they still have a warehouse somewhere… That’s what we’re working on with the Philippine National Police," he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
