MRT-3 127 depot personnel test positive for COVID-19

One hundred twenty seven personnel tested positive for COVID-19 after swab results were released, the Department of Transportation (DoTr) said Thursday.
Citing Metro Rail Transport-3 officials, DOTr said these were 124 Sumitomo depot personnel and three MRT-3 depot personnel. They have been placed under quarantine.
Before noon time, sixty-seven personnel tested positive for the virus.
There are no positive cases among station personnel, the DOTr said.
This came as the MRT-3 line may operate at reduced capacity starting July 6.
The extent of reduced train trips will be advised by Sumitomo over the weekend, MRT-3 said.
DOTr will be boost its Bus Augmentation Program and EDSA Busway Service to augment MRT-3 further reduced capacity.
MRT-3 reached its highest ridership since NCR went on general community quarantine on June 29 with 67,821 passengers at its reduced capacity of 13 percent, or 153 passengers per train, down from 1,182 before quarantine was imposed on March 17. DMS
