Municipal agriculture officer shot dead in Cotabato

The head of a government agency in North Cotabato was killed in a shooting incident on Wednesday.
Supt. Bernard Tayong, North Cotabato provincial police spokesman identified the victim as Edgar Arana, 57, a municipal agriculture officer in Arakan, North Cotabato.
He said based on an initial report Arana was on board his motorcycle when two unidentified motorcycle riding suspects appeared from behind and shot him several times, causing his death.
Tayong said the victim was traversing the national highway from Sitio Napanlahan, Poblacion heading to Poblacion Proper, Arakan when shooting happened around 8:30 am.
