New COVID-19 cases below 2,000: DOH

New coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases came in below 2,000 on Tuesday, the Department of Health ( DOH) said.
There were 1,635 new COVID-19 cases, which brought total cases to 291, 789.
Active cases reached 56, 097 of which 86.4 percent were mild. Asymptomatic cases took 9.2 percent, critical 3.1 percent and severe 1.3 percent.
The DOH said 1,435 of the new cases occurred in the last two weeks.
Fifty persons died from COVID-19, which brought total fatalities to 5,049.
Four hundred and fifty persons overcame COVID-19, which put total recoveries at 230, 643. DMS
