New COVID-19 cases fall below 2,000

The Department of Health ( DOH) said Tuesday new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases fell below 2,000 after two days but close to 1,000 were fresh cases.
Total cases were 47, 873 of which 34, 178 were active. There were 1,540 new cases, of which 993 were fresh cases, which are results released to patients within three days.
Other regions accounted for 456 of the fresh cases, followed by National Capital Region with 428 and Central Visayas,109.
Late cases, which are results released to patients four days ago or more, amounted to 547, with cases from other regions topping the list with 291 followed by NCR with 191 and Central Visayas, 65.
Two hundred and one persons recovered from COVID-19, resulting in 12, 386 recoveries. Six deaths were reported, bringing the total to 1,309. DMS
