New COVID-19 cases reach 3,446; total cases 220, 819

The Department of Health (DOH) said Monday 3,446 new coronavirus disease ( COVID-19) cases, which brought total cases to 220, 819.
From July 31 to August 31, total number of COVID-19 cases rose 127,465.
Majority of the new cases came from the National Capital Region with 1,900 followed by Laguna 163, Cavite 161, Leyte 155 and Pampanga 116.
Active cases reached 59, 699 of which 91.3 percent were mild, 6.2 percent asymptomatic, 1.5 percent critical and one percent severe.
DOH said 38 deaths from COVID-19 were reported, with 19 of these occurring in the NCR. Total deaths are at 3,558.
There were 165 patients who recovered from COVID-19, bringing the total to 157,562. DMS
