New COVID-19 cases reached 4,339; total now 178, 022

New coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases reached 4,339, bringing total cases to 178,022, the Department of Health (DOH) said Thursday.
The bulk of the new cases came from the National Capital Region, which had 2,590.
Eighty-eight new deaths from COVID-19 were reported, which raised total fatalities to 2,883.
Most of the new deaths were recorded in Central Visayas with 42, followed by NCR in 34.
The DOH said 727 persons recovered from COVID-19, which placed the total to 114,114. DMS
