New COVID-19 cases surpass 3,000 after a week: DOH

After a week with less than 3,000 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases daily, the Department of Health (DOH) said Monday new cases reached 3,073.
Total number of COVID-19 cases in the country are now 307,288.
Of the new cases reported, majority came from the National Capital Region (NCR) with 1,158.
Active cases reached 49, 242 of which 86.4 percent are mild, 8.7 percent asymptomatic, 3.4 percent critical and 1.5 percent severe, the DOH said.
The DOH said there were 37 new deaths, bringing total fatalities from COVID-19 to 5, 381. DMS
