Ninoy Aquino International Airport reopens international runway

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport reopened their international runway after repairing potholes Thursday morning.
Manila International Airport Authority operations chief Octavio Lina said they resumed operations at 1:30pm.
According to Lina, they finished repairing the NAIA runway 6/24 around 1:17pm.
A total of 24 international and domestics flights were affected by the emergency repair.
Lina said they always conduct repairs whenever they noticed potholes since it pose a safety risk. He added they are targeting the first quarter of 2018 to repair overlay of runway.
"New runway overlay should be able to handle bigger and heavier planes," he said. (Ella Dionisio/DMS)
