One dead, 130 suspects arrested in one-day Laguna provincial police operations

The Laguna Police Provincial Office on Friday said one person died while 130 suspects were arrested for various crimes in a one-day simultaneous anti-criminality law enforcement operation.
Police Col. Eleazar Matta, the provincial director, said in a report, these operations, conducted from April 10 to 11, includes buy-bust operations, implementation of search warrants against illegal drugs and loose firearms, service of warrants of arrest, and operations against loose firearms.
A suspect died during anti-illegal drugs operation after fighting back aggressive which necessitated the police officers to return fire, he said.
Matta said out of the 74 operations against illegal drugs, they apprehended 71 suspects in buy-bust operations, three in implementing search warrants, and nine in other police operations.
In operations against loose firearms, Laguna police has apprehended one suspect in its implementation of search warrants, and one for police patrol
Twenty-one persons were arrested for illegal gambling and 19 accused most wanted and wanted persons were3 nabbed with warrants of arrest within and outside Laguna.
Authorities also confiscated 119 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 57 grams with an estimated street value of P 182,900.
