One nabbed, high-powered firearms recovered in Tanza

The Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group arrested one person and recovered high powered firearms in Tanza, Cavite on Friday.
Superintendent Roque Merdegia, head of the CIDG Anti-Transnational Crime Unit, said Rogelio Tabanao was arrested at 6:20 am. in his house in Tanza for possessing high powered firearms with expired documents.
The firearms recovered include an AK 47 7.56 caliber rifle, 12-gauge shotgun and a caliber .45, pistol Merdegia said.
"According to him, he is taking care of the guns for his security", he said.
He said the suspect has a trucking business and scrap business in the area based on their initial investigation.
Police found an expired drivers license and permit to carry firearms ID of Tabanao, Merdegia said.
He said the CIDG conducted the operation through a search warrant issued by Region 4a Executive Judge Agripino Morga.
