Authorities confiscated P19 million worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City last Wednesday evening.

According to the Northern Police District (NPD), the operation was conducted around 7:30pm at Gilmar Subdivision, Barangay 168 Zone 15, District 1 in Deparo.

Initial report said the operation stemmed from leads from their previous buy-bust operation last May 11 against a known pusher included in the district’s drug watchlist.

NPD said an indepth intelligence and follow-up investigation was conducted relative to the modus operandi of the suspects to get their illegal drug source.

“After thorough information gathering, a positive lead was established which necessitated the operatives to conduct a buy-bust operation against the suspect known by the name 'Arthur' and his cohorts which resulted in their arrest,” the report said.

The operation resulted in the arrest of eight alleged drug suspects including the target of the operation, Arthur Salguero,  who is also included in their watchlist.

Aside from drug paraphernalia, operatives confiscated around 2.8 kilos of suspected shabu with standard drug price of P19, 040, 000.

The pieces of evidence were turned over to the crime laboratory for confirmatory testing to identify the chemical composition and to establish that the item is illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, the suspects were brought at District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) office and filing of appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.  Ella Dionisio/DMS
