P2.7-M “shabu” seized in Caloocan City buy-bust

September 20, 2020

Authorities confiscated P2.7-million worth of illegal drugs and arrested four alleged drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations in Caloocan City last Friday.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief Major General Debold Sinas said personnel from Caloocan City Police Station were able to arrest two drug suspects identified as Henry Baylon and Joana Bolivar, around 1:30pm in a buy-bust operation in the city.

Sinas said the operation stemmed after a previously arrested suspect revealed their illegal drug activities.

“Subsequently, an on-site interrogation was conducted wherein Henry revealed vital information on the illegal drug movement and modus operandi of their bosses. Thus, another drug transaction against the couple bosses was plotted,” he said.

The second operation conducted at Camarin, Caloocan City around 3:20pm resulted to the arrest of the two alleged leaders, Emma Beraur and Saad Beraur.

“I am impressed by the vigorous, concerted and in-depth intelligence and operational work involved in this case which led the operatives to the successful arrest of the leaders/source of the illegal drugs,” Sinas said.

“Once again, we have proven that we will not lax our anti-illegal drug efforts despite the stringent call of duty as frontliners in the fight against the unseen,” he added.

Authorities were able to recover six plastics of suspected shabu amounting to P2,700,000 and the couple’s ATM cards and vehicle.

Arrested suspects are currently detained in the police station and will be facing charges for violation of The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Ella Dionisio/DMS
