P4 million worth of marijuana seized in Hagonoy

Authorities confiscated P4 million worth of marijuana during a follow-up operation in Hagonoy, Bulacan early Sunday morning.
Police Major General Debold Sinas, the NCR chief, said the planned buy-bust operation was conducted by the District Special Operation Unit, District Drug Enforcement Unit and District Mobile Force Battalion (Special Weapons And Tactics) of Northern Police District (NPD) with Hagonoy Municipal Police Station around 3:20 am at Barangay Iba, Sitio Sandoval.
Sinas said operatives were able to arrest nine suspects aged 17 to 28 years old.
He said the operation stemmed from a previous buy-bust operations of NPD last February 16 and February 19.
Seized were around 37 kilograms of marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with standard drug price of P4, 440,000.
These items were brought to the NPD Crime Laboratory Office for examination.
Criminal complaints for violation of Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared for filing in court against the suspects.
"This is another manifestation of our ceaseless campaign against illegal drugs," Sinas said.
“I commend everyone responsible for this accomplishment. Rest assured that we are continuously restructuring a tailored fit, effective and the most efficient tactics to abolish all forms of illegal drugs and all its coddler,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
