Palace congratulates Miss Iloilo City for winning Miss Universe Philippines

Malacanang congratulated on Monday Miss Iloilo Rabiya Mateo who bagged the Miss Universe Philippines title during a competition held in Baguio City.

"The stars aligned when she (Mateo) was proclaimed as best Filipina in the entire universe," said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, who was one of the judges in the beauty pageant aired on Sunday.

"Congratulations to Ms. Mateo and may her reign be fruitful and productive," he added.

The 23-year old Mateo bested 45 other candidates. She will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant. Celerina Monte/DMS
