Palace pledges to work harder as Duterte admin satisfaction rating drops

Malacanang vowed on Friday to redouble the efforts to improve the lives of the Fipinos as the Duterte administration's net satisfaction rating fell by double digits during the first quarter.
The latest Social Weather Stations survey showed 69 percent of Filipinos were satisfied with the performance of the Duterte administration, while 11 percent were dissatisfied or a net satisfaction rating of +58, classified as "very good."
The January to May result was a 12-point drop from "excellent" score of +70 in the fourth quarter of last year.
"We remain grateful to our people for giving the Duterte administration a net satisfaction rating," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement.
He noted that the current government’s rating remains “excellent” in Mindanao, the President’s bailiwick, and stays “very good” in Balance Luzon and the Visayas.
"In addition, our people have appreciated the initiatives of the Administration in helping the victims of disasters where it got 'excellent' rating; helping the poor, rebuilding Marawi City, building and maintenance of public works, promoting the welfare of OFW (overseas Filipino workers) fighting terrorism, and protecting human rights where it received 'very good' rating," he said.
"Rest assured that the Duterte administration would continue to champion the interests of the greatest number of our countrymen, particularly in redoubling our efforts in ensuring that no Filipino family will ever be hungry," Roque added. Celerina Monte/DMS
