Palace says Liberal Party “afraid of its own ghost”
October 27, 2017
Malacanang said on Friday that the Liberal Party is "afraid of its own ghost" after an alleged bagman implicating Senator Franklin Drilon and former Interior and Local Government Secretary and defeated presidential bet Mar Roxas to illegal drugs surfaced.
Assistant to the Presidential Spokesperson China Jocson denied in a press briefing that the administration was behind Ricky Serenio, an alleged drug cartel bagman, who made the allegation.
Serenio came out and accused Drilon and Roxas on their involvement in the illegal drug trade in Visayas.
Drilon came from Iloilo, while Roxas from Roxas province.
"The administration has nothing to do with the testimony of a drug cartel bagman, Mr. Ricky Serenio, implicating Senator Franklin Drilon and Former Secretary Mar Roxas to the illegal drug trade in the Visayas," Jocson said.
"The Liberal Party is afraid of its own ghost after conducting several witch hunt investigations against their perceived political enemies when they were in power," she added.
LP, in a statement, claimed that the Duterte administration is going all-out to demonize Roxas and Drilon. Celerina Monte/DMS
