Malacanang called on Thursday bus drivers to be extra cautious following an accident that led to the death of 19 passengers in Occidental Mindoro this week.
In a press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque extended Palace "deep sympathies" to the families and friends of the victims of the tragedy.
"We enjoin everyone, especially the drivers of the buses to take extra precaution, especially now that Holy Week and summer break are approaching," Roque said, noting thousands of people are expected to to travel to the provinces.
Asked if there would be anyone to be held responsible, Roque said, "let's wait first for the result of the investigation."
He said if there would be lapses from the part of any government official, heads would roll.
He assured that justice would be served for the death of 19 people and injuries of 21 others when Dimple Star Transport bus fell into a ravine on Tuesday in Sablayan town, Occidental Mindoro. Celerina Monte/DMS
