Palawan authorities Saturday morning confiscated 21 frozen pangolin meat, four kilos pangolin scales, 15 hawksbill turtles and one green turtle at the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Sta Lourdes Monitoring Station, Puerto Princesa.
Joint elements of DENR-CENRO ( City Environment and Natural Resources Officer) and Puerto Princesa Police Office arrested Joshue Arellano, a resident of Brgy Jolo Roxas. Police said a .38 revolver with three live ammunition were also found aside from the turtles, pangolin scales and meat.
A complaint for violation of R.A. 9147 or the Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act will be filed against Arellano, according to John Vincent Fabello, Palawan Council for Sustainable Development, spokesman. DMS
