Panelo says Dino offered to be DILG undersecretary
September 27, 2017
Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo said Wednesday former Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) chairman Martin Dino was offered to be undersecretary of Department of the Interior and Local Government.
"What I know is there is an offer to him to become Usec (undersecretary). I don't know if he did not accept it or...", Panelo said in a forum in Quezon City.
President Rodrigo Duterte removed Martin Dino in his post as SBMA chairman on September 25.
"I don't have personal knowledge but I know that I heard about the SBMA... that they are in chaos there in SBMA. There are complaints on his style of administration. The president found out. It was investigated, validated and he made action:", Panelo said.
Panelo said there is an issue in Dino's way of managing the agency but there is no allegation of corruption against the former chairman.
"I did not hear allegation of corruption against him. What I heard is that they are not getting along in terms of management", he said. Alanna Ambi/DMS
