PCG personnel help mother deliver baby at airport

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel assisted a pregnant Overseas Filipino Worker who give birth at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
"On 05 August 2020, PCG frontline personnel deployed at the NAIA Terminal 2 ensured the safe childbirth of a 37-year-old pregnant mother," the PCG reported on Friday.
The pregnant woman, an overseas Filipino worker (OFW), arrived from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
"Ten minutes after her water broke while processing at the One-Stop Shop, the mother successfully delivered a healthy baby boy," PCG stated.
"Right after delivery, Doctor Rowena Bernal of the airport’s medical service arrived to render assistance while waiting for the ambulance that brought the mother and her newborn baby to the Pasay City General Hospital," it added.
According to the PCG, their frontline personnel who responded to the incident, said it was a privilege and pleasure to serve beyond their duties amid the ongoing pandemic, to save the life of every Filipino. Robina Asido/DMS
