PCG rescues 30 passengers off Palawan

Thirty distressed passengers were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard at the vicinity waters off Royal Captain Shoal in West Philippine Sea last Friday.
Based on the report from Coast Guard District (CGD) Palawan, they received a call around 7:01 pm from the radio operator of Kalayaan Municipality informing that 30 passengers on board motor launch Hadzraima went on distressed and drifted at vicinity waters off West of Sicud, Rizal in Palawan and requested for an immediate rescue.
The passengers were all residents and employees of the Municipality of Kalayaan.
The motor launch departed Puerto Princesa City, Palawan on July 4 en route to Pag-asa Island.
CGD Palawan Commander, Commodore Allen Toribio directed Barko Republika ng Pilipinas Sindangan (MRRV-4407), which was on a maritime patrol off Balabac, Palawan, to conduct search and rescue operations and render necessary assistance to the passengers and crew of the distressed motor launch.
No one was hurt in the incident.
BRP Sindangan immediately proceeded to the area and sighted the vessel at vicinity off Royal Captain Shoal, West Philippine Sea. It established radio contact to the distressed motor launch and rendered necessary assistance.
