PCG rescues four crew members of barge in Negros Oriental

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued four crew members of a distressed barge off the waters of Negros Oriental on Thursday.
Based on initial report, the PCG said their personnel onboard Multi-Role Response Vessel (MRRV) 4406, BRP Suluan rescued the four crew members of the that was dragged due to strong currents in the waters off Siaton Point.
According to PCG, BRP Suluan was conducting its regular maritime patrol when it was alerted that the barge was drifting since the evening of Nov 26.
“After ensuring that the rescued individuals were all in good physical condition, the PCG personnel towed the troubled barge to the nearest bay for sheltering and repair,” the report said. Robina Asido/DMS
