BRP Gabriela Silang, the biggest transport ship of Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), arrived in Cebu City on Friday afternoon
Commodore Armando Balilo, PCG spokesman, said the 108 members of the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP – SAF) disembarked at Aduana Wharf in Cebu City.
"The additional PNP – SAF personnel deployed in Cebu City will help intensify the police operation in the area which is currently under the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ)," he said.
The PCG also transported medical supplies for the frontline workers in Cebu City.
"The additional medical supplies will help in establishing the health and safety of the medical and government personnel who continued to fight the threat of COVID-19," he said.
Balilo said BRP Gabriela Silang will next transport the total of 150 locally stranded individuals and 30 indigenous people to the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Zamboanga, General Santos and Davao. Robina Asido/DMS
