PDEA declares Romblon drug free

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Monday declared Romblon as "drug cleared province", the second in the country after Batanes.
In a statement from Philippine National Police Region 4B- Mimaropa ( Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), it said PDEA Deputy Director General for Operations Raul Lasala officially declared the province of Romblon cleared of drugs.
At a ceremony held in Romblon State College, Lasala made the declaration after the province had met the requirements to validate its drug-cleared status.
Chief Superintendent Wilben Mayor, the regional police director, congratulated the Romblon Police Provincial Office for their contributions in making the province free from illegal drugs.
Lasala thanked all local chief executives, government agencies and the citizens of Romblon for their active support on this great undertaking.
During the implementation of Project Double Barrel, Project Double Barrel Alpha and Project Double Barrel Reloaded, Romblon police were able to launch 35 operations, leading to the arrest of 47 suspects and confiscation of 188.3838 grams of shabu and 54.722 grams of marijuana. Ella Dionisio/DMS
