PDEA officer shot dead near Cebu provincial capitol gate

CEBU CITY-- Gunman shot an officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) as his car slowed down in an intersection 50 meters on the side of Cebu provincial capitol gate Friday afternoon.

Earl Rallos, an assistant operations officer at the PDEA regional office, sustained multiple gunshot wounds mostly in the head which killed him instantly, said Chief Inspector Maria Theresa Macatangay, Abellana police station head.

Witness said the gunman from the driver side of the car, approached and shot Rallos.

“The gunman was about to walk away but seeing him ( Rallos)  going out of the car (passenger side) he approached the victim and finished him off)” according to a witness not identified by the police.

Police are checking if there are CCTV cameras fronting the crime scene.

Rallos was a former radio reporter from Bombo Radio Cagayan de Oro. He then transferred to Cebu city and worked with GMA 7 as dySS radio reporter.

After his stint as a broadcaster, he joined PDEA and underwent training. He was assigned in different regions until he was transferred to Cebu where his family stays. DMS
