PDEA seizes P13.6m illegal drugs in Zamboanga City

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Sunday confiscated P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs in front of a fast food chain in Zamboanga City.

 Jacquelyn de Guzman, acting PDEA regional director, said the suspects as Jumdatol Mohamod, 51; Yacub Alih, 39; Pae Kamsa, 39; Warid Palahudin, 62,; and Julim Salapuddin, 29.

De Guzman said a joint operation with police was conducted around 10:40 am against the suspects in front of a fast-food chain in Barangay San Jose Gusu, Zamboanga City.

The operation resulted in confiscation of around two kilos of suspected shabu contained in two self-sealing bags with estimated street value of P13.6 million.

Also confiscated were two paper bags, one black cellophane wrapped with brown packaging tape, 32 bundles of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 bill utilized as buy-bust money, five cellular phones, and one public utility jeepney.

Violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed in court against the suspects. Ella Dionisio/DMS
