PDEA waiting for Duterte’s nod to release latest narcolist

October 15, 2018

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency ( PDEA) on Monday said they are waiting for President Rodrigo Duterte's approval if they can disclose the latest narco-politicians list to help voters select candidates in the 2019 midterm elections.

"I am just awaiting for the guidance of the president if he will permit PDEA to disclose all the list," PDEA Director General Aaron said.

He said there are now 85 personalities in the list.

"We started from 93, it went down to 85. That is the total number of narco-politicians now. Four were killed and the other four were arrested. So eight were removed (from service) from then 93 so it's now 85. As I have said it's now from vice mayor, mayor, some governors, vice governors, congressmen, I think there are no senators (in the list)," Aquino said.

The PDEA chief said he will also implement an adjudication process where those politicians included in the list will undergo a certain process, validation, re-validation and workshop.

"It will be decided there if and when they will be delisted or not.. If we delist them, we will put their record on the suspense file so in case they will again do some active effort on illegal drugs, we will return them to the original list," he added.

Aquino said they will start the adjudication process next week.  Ella Dionisio/DMS
