Peso finishes at new four-year high of P48.045:$1

The peso eased to a new four-year high of P48.045 against the dollar after rising to P48.031 in intraday trading on Thursday.
On Wednesday, the peso ended at P48.05 against the greenback. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $693.8 million from the previous day's $742.45 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed 113.51 points higher to 7, 194.13. In the broader market, there were 121 gainers, 98 losers and 43 unchanged.
Volume reached 3.65 billion shares worth P10.74 billion from Wednesday's 3.9 billion shares valued at P8.8 billion.
Most active shares were led by Metrobank, up P1.70 to P50.90; BPI, up P4 to P84 and BDO, up P3 to P107.50. DMS
