Philippine, Australian armies finish urban operations training in Capiz

The Philippine and Australian armies finished an urban operations training exercise in Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz last June 20, a Philippine Army press release said Thursday.
The closing ceremony was attended by the participants and members of the Mobile Training Team from the Joint Task Group 629 of the Australian Defense Force (ADF) headed by its Commanding Officer Lt.Col Judd Finger.
Spearhead officers and enlisted personnel led by their Assistant Division Commander Brig,Gen Francisco Delfin and Chief of Staff Col. Wilfredo Villahermosa also witnessed the ceremony.
One of the highlights of the activity is a 20-minute capability demonstration vigorously performed by the personnel of the Operation Control units of the 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division, Philippine Army and Australian Defense Force.
The training which commenced last May 27 was supervised by a land advisory team from the Joint Task Group 629. However, majority of the pool of instructors came from 3ID who were trained by JTG 629 during the Philippine-Australia Army to Army Exercise 2018-2 last March 05-29 2018.
Personnel from the 53rd Engineering Brigade; 6th Light Armor Company; Mechanized Infantry Division, PA; and 3rd Field Artillery Battalion, Army Artillery Regiment, PA also participated in the said training.
The training intends to enhance the knowledge, interoperability, tactics, techniques, and procedures of the participants on combined urban operations. It will also strengthen the bilateral relationship between the armed forces of the two nations. Robina Asido/ DMS
