Philippines declines to 13th largest country in terms of population

The Philippines is the 13th largest country in the world in terms of population, according to the Commission on Population (POPCOM). In a statement Thursday, POPCOM Executive Director Juan Antonio Perez III said: “On July 1, 2017, Ethiopia overtook our spot, making Philippines the 13th largest country in the world." The Philippines’ estimated population is104.3 million, according to the POPCOM "Population Clock". In 2014, the United Nations (UN) ranked the Philippines as the 12th most populated country in the world with its 100 million population. POPCOM said the Philippines’ 100 millionth babies turned three years old Thursday. POPCOM is providing their families with P5,000 gift packs for the babies’ developmental needs. DMS
