Philippines ready to assist Indonesia

The Philippines stands ready to assist Indonesia after an earthquake struck Central Sulawesi where hundreds were killed on Friday.
In a statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Monday, it said : "We continue to monitor the situation in Central Sulawesi in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that struck the area on Friday and are in touch with Indonesian authorities."
"We stand ready to respond and extend any assistance, taking into account particular needs on the ground as may be indicated by Indonesia, a close neighbor and fellow ASEAN member," the DFA said. DMS
