PMA cadet passes away due to illness

A cadet of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) died due to stage four cancer on Monday.
In a statement, the PMA announced the death of a 23 year-old Cadet 2nd Class Cedrick Gadia.
“It is with a heavy heart that PMA announces the passing of Cadet 2nd Class Cedrick Gadia, who succumbed to his battle with cancer today 28 October 2019 at 5:15am at the AFP Medical Center,” the PMA said.
Capt. Cherryl Tindog, PMA spokesperson, said Gadia was admitted in Fort Del Pilar Station Hospital on August 29 due to anemia and stomach pain.
“On 05 Sep 2019, he was evacuated to AFP Medical Center for further treatment and was later diagnosed with esophageal cancer, stage IV with liver and lung metastasis,” she said.
Tindog mentioned that the family of Gadia has the same history of illness.
“The PMA is deeply saddened for this unfortunate loss, and extends our sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Cdt 2CL Gadia,” she said.
“At present, Cdt 2CL Gadia's remains are at the AFP Medical Center as PMA continues to arrange for his transfer to Candon, Ilocos Sur which was requested by his father,” Tindog said.
“We will continue to assist him and his family to accord one of our own sons and members of the AFP with the due honor that befits him,” she added. Robina Asido/DMS
