July 8, 2020
One of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) officials who was charged for murder because of the death of Cadet Fourth Class Darwin Dormitorio posted bail on Tuesday, the PMA spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Captain Cherryl Tindog said Major Maria Ofelia Beloy of the PMA Hospital, was assisted by the judge advocate of the PMA when he posted her bail.
"Maj. Beloy is here in PMA. Actually yesterday she posted her bail with the assistance of our judge advocate. She was assisted because it's a civilian court, so when it comes to civilian proceedings the PMA is slightly hands off because they have their own law," she said.
"The PMA will only provide assistance they need on her exact location. She is here at the PMA. She posted bail and she is readying herself to face the court," she added.
Tindog said the two other officials of PMA hospital that were also subject of the warrant of arrest issued by the Baguio City Regional Trial Court were relieved from the PMA.
"Col. (Ceasar) Candelaria is. by virtue of orders, relieved from PMA, 26 September 2019, reassigned to GHQ HSC (General Headquarters and Headquarters Service Command)," she said.
"Capt. (Flor Apple) Apostol was also relieved on 01 January 2020, effective 01 January 2020 but we received the orders dated 10 June 2020. There are delays on the publication but the effectivity is 01January 2020, reassigned to PAF is what the order stated," she added. Robina Asido/DMS
