PNP chief to give P10,000 to cops who passed bar exams
April 30, 2020
The chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Thursday said he will give a separate incentive of P10,000 to each police personnel who passed the 2019 Bar examination.
“That amount represents your wardrobe allowance when you take your oath as members of the Philippine Bar. I am really happy that we are adding more police lawyers in the organization,” said Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa in his virtual presser.
Gamboa asked police board passers to seriously consider a professional career in the PNP. “The PNP needs you,” he said.
The PNP chief said they don’t have the exact number of police officers who passed the bar exams but based on the post of the Philippine National Academy Alumni Association (PNPAAA), five police officers hurdled the 2019 exams.
He said those who passed will have the rank of Police Captain.
''They will not be automatically assigned to legal service because they have a choice on where they want to be assigned. Of course, they will automatically get the rank of Police Captain. However, they will be following a different career path if they enter the legal service,” Gamboa said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
