The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday activated a new primary unit to manage its recruitment and selection process for cadets and rookie cops.
Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa, the PNP chief, activated the PNP Recruitment and Selection Service (PRS) which will be under the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM).
Police Colonel Ma. Leonora Camarao will be the PRS director.
The service hub will handle the recruitment and selection process for patrol officers, lateral entry for technical and line officers, and the cadetship program of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA).
Gamboa said the PRS will set up a systematic recruitment process for qualified men and women who will join the police.
"Now, as the PNP is recruiting new police officers, we are proud to say that the organization is offering one of the highest paying entry level position jobs in the country," he said.
Gamboa expressed his gratitude to President Rodrigo Duterte for his support to the PNP in ensuring their morale and welfare as the law enforcement arm of the national government.
Police Major General Reynaldo Biay, DPRM Director, said the activation was approved on December 27, 2019 through NAPOLCOM Resolution Number 2019-103.
Biay said pursuant to NHQ-PNP General Order Number DPL-19-04, PRS is a National Administrative Support Unit under the DPRM. Ella Dionisio/DMS
