PNP grateful to Muslims for following health protocols

The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Friday said they are grateful to the Muslim community for following health protocols set by the government as the country joins them in celebrating Eid’l-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice
“As the entire Filipino nation celebrates Eid-al-Adha to commemorate the willingness of Abraham to follow God's command to sacrifice his son, it gives us time to reflect and strengthen the bonds of unity and solidarity among Muslims and Christians,” said Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesman, in a statement.
“We are grateful to the Filipino Muslim community for their understanding and cooperation amid health and safety restrictions being enforced by authorities in the conduct of religious gathering and activities,” he added.
Banac said this is the true essence of caring and compassion for others which are the hallmarks of Eid-al-Adha.
“We in the PNP are doing our share in strengthening the fabric of brotherhood and cooperation between Muslims and Christians in our society,” he said.
Banac said the PNP joins the Filipino nation and Muslim ummah, the community of the Islamic faithful, in praying for peace and harmony among the diverse peoples and cultures.
“We join the world in prayer, that understanding and goodwill will reign supreme in the hearts of men amid this global pandemic of COVID-19,” Banac said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
