PNP-IAS probes police official for alleged sexual harassment of detained Parojinog
October 11, 2020
The Philippine National Police (PNP) said the Internal Affairs Service (IAS) is already investigating the alleged harassment of PNP-Custodial Service Unit chief against former Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Nova Princess Parojinog.
In a statement Saturday, Police Colonel Ysmael Yu, PNP spokesperson, said IAS is already handling the administrative case against PLtCol Jigger Noceda who is now facing criminal cases for alleged attempted rape, acts of lasciviousness, violation of the Safe Spaces Act and unjust vexation.
“General (Camilo) Cascolan, the chief of the PNP, will not let this pass,” Yu said.
Parojinog has been detained at the PNP Custodial Center since July 2017 for illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms charges.
According to Yu, Noceda is now under the care of Headquarters Support Service (HSS), however, he was allowed to go home to his barracks.
“Right now, we will wait for the criminal case against the official,” Yu said.
Yu earlier said the Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC), in behalf of Parojinog, filed a complaint last October 7 against Noceda at the Quezon City prosecutor's office.
“The Chief PNP strongly stressed that this act is not a virtue of a police being responsible, respected and disciplined. It will be dealt with accordingly,” he added.
According to WCPC, Noceda sexually abused Parojinog on at least two occasions this year and he did not submit a counter-affidavit on the allegations against him.
In 2015, Noceda allegedly tortured a suspected thief in Carmona, Cavite. Ella Dionisio/DMS
