PNP on full alert status for 30th SEA Games

The Philippine National Police ( PNP) on Monday are on full alert status as athletes and guest started to arrive for the 30th SEA Games.

In a press briefing, Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac, PNP spokesperson said full alert status declared in Police Regional Office 1 (Ilocos region), 3 (Central Visayas), 4A (Calabarzaon) and in National Capital Region Police Office.

“Full alert status is now placed over Police Regional Offices 1, 3, 4A, NCRPO and national operations support units effective 8 in the morning today November 25 that will last until December 14,” Banac said.

“Other police regional offices and national administrative units will remain on heightened alert for the entire duration of the entire SEA Games,” he added.

Banac said the Highway Patrol Group is fielding 101 motorcycles and 29 mobile patrol units with 175 personnel for convoy security for the delegates and to respond to contingency such as road crashes, medical emergencies, bus breakdown and emergencies at the North Luzon Expressway and other travel routes.

Banac added the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be fielding 22 motorcycle units while 519 personnel of Police Security and Protection Group will secure delegates and venues.
