PNP personnel positive for COVID-19 reach 109

The Philippine National Police- Health Service (PNP-HS) said four more tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total to 109.

According to Police Brigadier General Herminio Tadeo Jr, PNP-HS director, said the new cases were a 35-year- old female, a 32-year-old male, a 39-year-old female and a 45-year-old male, all are assigned in Metro Manila.

Tadeo said out of the 109 patients, 17 recovered while deaths remained at three.

They recorded a total of 369 PNP personnel categorized as Probable Persons Under Investigation (Probable PUIs) while a total 375 personnel were recommended as Suspected Persons Under Investigation (Suspected PUIs).

A total of 1,050 personnel, which include 335 Probable PUIs and 713 Suspected PUIs have completed self or home quarantine.

The Kiangan Billeting Center, PNP’s COVID-19 Patient Care Center, has admitted 37 PNP personnel listed as PUIs and who underwent self-quarantine.

The Spring Hotel admitted a total of 33 personnel composed of seven PCO, 21 PNCO, three NUP and two civilian employees.

Also, the taekwondo quarter in Camp Crame was opened as a quarantine facility for all personnel who undergo self and home quarantine.

It has  admitted five personnel which includes three PNCO and two NUP.

Meanwhile, PNP chief Archie Francisco Gamboa thanked the Emdee Chem Marketing Group Corp and PNPA Class 1989 for  medical supplies and basic health commodities they donated for PNP health workers.

Received medical supplies were consists of 100 gallons disinfectants, 24 gallons alcohol and hand sanitizers, 24 gallons of hand soap, and toilet bowl cleaners as well as 41 boxes of cup noodles.

"We are very grateful to Emdee Chem Marketing Group Corp and PNPA Class 1989 for their support to our policemen and women especially for those who are assigned to battle the unseen enemy,” Gamboa said.

“These donations will help protect our personnel from infection and also sustain the food supply of our frontliners,” he added. Ella Dionisio/DMS
