PNP places cops in Mindanao on full alert
August 29, 2018
The Philippine National Police (PNP) ordered full alert for its personnel in Mindanao after Tuesday night's bomb explosion in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
“I directed all the regional directors in the Mindanao area to declare a full alert status,” PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde said in an ambush interview with reporters.
The presence of the police should be 100 percent,” said Albayalde.
Metro Manila is on heightened alert status which means at least 50 percent of security forces in the capital should be on duty.
Albayalde admitted terrorists were able to come up with a sneak attack despite presence of policemen and soldiers in the area.
He added intelligence operatives received previous information about a planned bombing but the area was not specified. DMS
