Following the order of President Rodrigo Duterte, the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said they are ready to help in distributing the second tranche of the government’s cash subsidy or the social amelioration package to beneficiaries.
“We are in constant touch with Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) with whom we are collaborating to map out systems and procedures utilizing resources and personnel of the military and police to reach out to all SAP beneficiaries in the barangay,” said Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac in a statement.
“On the directive of President Duterte, the PNP is honor to help provide assistance to the people especially those in remote and isolated areas,” he said.
Banac added there is PNP’s presence in all barangays nationwide and their program “Kapwa Ko Sagot Ko” or voluntary food and relief assistance is continuing.
According to DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista, they have initial coordination with AFP and PNP to help in distributing financial assistance, especially on geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas. Ella Dionisio/DMS
