The Philippine National Police (PNP) said they received the arrest warrant from the Nueva Ecija court for the arrest of National Anti-Poverty Commission Liza Maza, former Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael Mariano, former partylist congressmen Satur Ocampo and Teddy Casino along with three others for a murder case.
PNP Director General Oscar Albayalde told a press briefing Monday police have received a copy of the arrest order by Presiding Judge Evelyn Atienza-Turla, presiding judge of Palayan City Regional Trial Court Branch 40.
"l have directed the CIDG ( Criminal Investigation and Detection Group) over the weekend to immediately send out arresting teams to serve the warrant of arrest against Satur Ocampo. Liza Maza. Teodoro Casino. Rafael Mariano. Vicente Cayetano. Delhn Pimentel and Emeterio Antalan," said Albayalde in a statement
Albayalde appealed to the accused "to just turn themselves in and submit themselves to judicial processes."
"The PNP is duty bound to implement orders of judicial authorities. That is our constitutional mandate that law enforcers must abide with due consideration to human rights and dignity of the accused," said Albayalde. DMS
