The chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Tuesday said the P2 million reward offered by President Rodrigo Duterte is a signal for law enforcement to intensify their operation against the New People's Army ( NPA)
“It’s just reiterating the need for us to face squarely the NPA ,” Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said in his virtual presser.
Gamboa said NPA during this pandemic crisis continues to attack government forces giving humanitarian assistance to affected Filipinos.
“We have always been motivated to neutralize personalities from the CPP (Communist Party of the Philippines)-NPA… president giving that reward is a signal to (the) AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines and PNP to intensify their program against the neutralization of CPP-NPA personalities,” he said.
Duterte on Tuesday morning offered a P2-million bounty to anyone who could give information for the arrest or neutralization of a commander of the New People's Army. Ella Dionisio/DMS
