`PNP says 4,548 surrendered; 12,185 arrested in anti-illegal drug operations

The Philippine National Police (PNP) said as of March 12, 2018, said 4,548 persons surrendered through various Oplan Tokhang activities nationwide.
The PNP said Friday, Police Regional Office 10 recorded the highest number of Tokhang activities with 1,016 and listed 529 drug surrenderers followed by Police Regional Office 3 with 1,005 Tokhang activities with 656 surrenderers.
Region 10 covers Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte and Bukidnon. Region 3 covers Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and Pangasinan.
Police arrested 12,185 drug personalities from 7,744 operations while 118 died in police operations from December 5, 2017 to March 5, 2018 on PNP’s continuing intensified anti-illegal drug campaign.
The PNP, through the Directorate for Intelligence, revealed 12,287 drug personalities included in their validated Drug Watchlist dated from December 5, 2017 to February 15,2018.
PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said Tokhang operations are intelligence-driven, targeting suspected illegal drug personalities in the watchlist. DMS
